Data from WHOOP stops on its way to Apple Health until the steps below fix it. Biomon reads Apple Health.

Short answer

Not for new data. WHOOP says that once your membership (subscription) ends, it stops collecting and uploading your data. Export your data before it ends.

A WHOOP band needs an active membership to record: once your membership ends, WHOOP says it no longer collects, uploads or analyzes your biometric data. WHOOP says you can still view your past data.

See the 5 steps

Pause or cancel: what each one keeps

Pause Cancel
When it takes effect At once, for up to 3 months At the end of your membership term
New data WHOOP uploads no data while paused You keep collecting data until the last day of your membership term, then none
Billing WHOOP does not bill you while paused It depends on how you pay: see step 5 under "Cancel your membership"
If you come back within 90 days WHOOP keeps your data, with no recalibration period WHOOP keeps your data, with no recalibration period
If you come back after 90 days WHOOP resets your biometric baseline, and a recalibration period is needed WHOOP resets your biometric baseline, and a recalibration period is needed

A recalibration period is the time that WHOOP needs to learn your patterns again. WHOOP says each of its metrics unlocks after its own calibration period.

Export your WHOOP data first

WHOOP says to download your export before your membership expires.

  1. In the WHOOP app on your iPhone, tap More then App Settings then Data Export.

    Step 1

    In the WHOOP app

    1. More
    2. App Settings
    3. Data Export
  2. If the screen asks for a date range, select your entire account history.
  3. Tap Create Export.
  4. Open the email from WHOOP. WHOOP says it comes within 24 hours.
  5. Download the CSV files from the link. The link expires after 7 days.

For what the CSV files hold, see How do I export my WHOOP data?

Pause or switch instead

Pause your membership

You can pause only with an active membership, outside a commitment period (the 12 months that you agreed to pay for), and if you have not paused in the past 12 months.

  1. Go to app.whoop.com in a web browser, and log in with your WHOOP account.
  2. Select the three horizontal bars in the top-left corner to open the menu.
  3. Select Membership.
  4. Click Pause Membership.
  5. Choose a length of up to 3 months.
  6. Confirm the pause. WHOOP says it takes effect at once.

Switch to a lower-cost membership

WHOOP's memberships are One, Peak and Life. Open Membership as in steps 1 to 3 above. Under Billing Information, review or update your membership, if you are eligible. WHOOP says a downgrade must be scheduled for your next billing date. If the new membership needs other hardware, WHOOP ships the right device.

Cancel your membership

  1. Go to app.whoop.com in a web browser, and log in with your WHOOP account.
  2. Select the three horizontal bars in the top-left corner to open the menu.
  3. Select Membership.
  4. Click Cancel Your Membership at the bottom of the page.
  5. Select the option for how you pay:
    • Paid 12 months up front. Schedule the cancellation for the end of your commitment period.
    • Paying monthly, within the 12-month commitment. Pay off the remaining months in full, or schedule the cancellation for the end of the commitment.
    • Paying monthly, outside the commitment. Cancel before your next billing date to avoid future charges.

If it still doesn't work

  • No export email after 24 hours

Check your spam folder. If the email is not there, contact WHOOP Member Support.

  • The export link has expired

Request a new export, as in steps 1 to 3 under "Export your WHOOP data first".

  • You cannot pause

Check the three conditions under "Pause your membership". Members who use WHOOP through an organization may also be unable to pause. If you do not qualify, switch to a lower-cost membership or cancel instead.

Questions

Does WHOOP keep my data if I cancel?

Yes, WHOOP says you can still view your past data, but it records no new data after cancellation.

Can I get a refund for WHOOP?

Within the first 30 days of receiving your WHOOP device, WHOOP says you can return it for a refund. Cancel your membership at app.whoop.com first, then follow WHOOP's return process.

How do I restart my WHOOP membership?

At app.whoop.com, select the three horizontal bars in the top-left corner, then select Membership. Click Resume Membership. Confirm the reactivation. While your membership is paused, WHOOP says you can resume at any time.

Can you buy a WHOOP band without a membership?

Notebookcheck reported in May 2026 that WHOOP had started to sell the WHOOP 5.0 band on its own in Australia, but that you still need a membership to use it. In Germany, the band was still included in the membership.
