Data from WHOOP stops on its way to Apple Health until the steps below fix it. Biomon reads Apple Health.

Short answer

Connect Apple Health in the WHOOP app More then App Settings then Integrations then Apple Health. It sends heart rate only for sleep and workouts, so gaps are normal.

WHOOP sends a narrower set of data to Apple Health than many people expect, so some "missing" data is by design. Check the connection first, then what WHOOP actually writes.

See the 6 steps

Steps

  1. Update the WHOOP app from the App Store.
  2. In the WHOOP app, open the More menu, tap App Settings then Integrations then Apple Health, and tap Connect.

    Step 2

    In the WHOOP app

    1. App Settings
    2. Integrations
    3. Apple Health
  3. On the iPhone permission screen, turn on the categories you want WHOOP to write and read, then tap Allow.
  4. Open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then under Privacy tap Apps then WHOOP, and make sure every category you want is on.

    Step 4

    In the Health app

    1. Apps
    2. WHOOP
  5. Keep Bluetooth on, force-close the WHOOP app, reopen it and let the band sync.
  6. Give it time. A WHOOP reply in its community says data can take time to appear after you first connect, and members report it can arrive the next day rather than live.

If it still doesn't work

  • Check the data source

In the Health app, tap Browse then Sleep then Data Sources & Access and look for WHOOP. If another app or an Apple Watch sits above it, tap Edit and drag WHOOP up for that data type.

  • Restart the band

In the WHOOP app, go to Device Settings then Advanced then Reboot Device. If that fails, forget WHOOP in the iPhone's Bluetooth settings and pair it again.

  • Stuck on "Connecting"

Some WHOOP 5.0 members report the integration staying on "Connecting your Apple Health Data" after these steps. If yours does, contact WHOOP support from the WHOOP app or website.

Why this happens

WHOOP's help page lists what it writes to Apple Health: workouts, active energy, heart rate during activities such as sleep and workouts, sleep, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, blood oxygen, and steps if you turn them on in WHOOP's settings. It does not write HRV, because WHOOP measures HRV as RMSSD and Apple Health uses SDNN. A WHOOP reply in its community adds that heart rate is not written as a continuous record, and members report that sleep arrives as time in bed and time asleep without stages. WHOOP can change this list, so for the current set, open the Health app, tap your profile picture, then under Privacy tap Apps then WHOOP.

Questions

Does WHOOP send all-day heart rate to Apple Health?

No. WHOOP's help page lists heart rate during activities, such as sleep and workouts, among what it writes to Apple Health, and a WHOOP reply in its community says continuous heart rate isn't exported separately.

Why don't I see WHOOP sleep stages in Apple Health?

WHOOP members report that Apple Health receives time in bed and time asleep from WHOOP, but not REM, deep or light stages. WHOOP has not given a date for adding them.

Why don't WHOOP and Apple Health show the same step count?

Apple Health ranks sources for each data type. If an Apple Watch, iPhone or another app ranks above WHOOP for Steps, Health uses that source where they overlap, so totals can differ from the WHOOP app. WHOOP writes steps to Apple Health only if you turn them on in WHOOP's settings.
